After‑Death Communication Research Project
The After‑Death Communication (ADC) research project is a long‑term, multilingual international study led by Evelyn Elsaesser and colleagues to investigate the phenomenology, circumstances, and psychological impact of spontaneous and direct contacts that bereaved people report with deceased loved ones. By systematically collecting and studying firsthand reports from people around the world, the project provides evidence that spontaneous contact with the deceased is a cross-cultural and psychologically meaningful phenomenon. Its findings are helping psychologists, grief counselors, and practitioners better understand how ADCs can support emotional healing, foster resilience, and reshape our understanding of life after death, bridging the gap between personal experience and scientific inquiry.

What the Project Is
A mission‑driven platform that brings together researchers, authors, spiritual teachers, and community members to open up dialogue about death and what may lie beyond it.
The project emphasizes de‑stigmatizing and demystifying death, helping people see dying as a natural part of life, and encouraging open conversations about experiences that challenge the notion that consciousness simply ends at physical death.
It blends empirical research, personal accounts, philosophical inquiry, and spiritual perspectives, exploring topics such as near‑death experiences (NDEs), shared death experiences (SDEs), after‑death communications (ADCs), terminal lucidity, reincarnation studies, mediumship, and related phenomena.

The International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the study of and education about near-death experiences (NDEs) and related phenomena. It supports scientific research, publishes educational resources, and organizes conferences and support groups.
SWISS IANDS is the Swiss association and platform affiliated with IANDS. It provides resources, events, conferences, media information, and support groups. It approaches near-death experiences and their implications with openness, scientific rigor, and complete independence from any ideological or religious agenda.
Evelyn Elsaesser is a founding member and serves on the board of SWISS IANDS.
